Each year, I try to add something I’m thankful for. This year, that’s been pretty easy. I hope this motivates all of you to take time out to appreciate what you have.
- As always, I’m thankful for my wonderful wife Judy & family and their love & support. If I had nothing else they alone would make me a most fortunate man – 38+ years (and counting) and I’ve still got her fooled;
- I’m thankful that my health is good, I’ve shed 35 lbs. and can still walk the golf course. My game “needs work”.
- I’m thankful that despite some back issues (never due to excessive golf) I’ve been able to find capable help with Dr. Abraham and Physical Therapist Dave Ostrow who have kept me going and continuing to play golf.
- I’m thankful that my family and friends are (for the most part) happy, healthy and thriving and especially for those friends who’ve recovered or are on comebacks from health setbacks;
- I’m thankful that my old college friend SH is recovering from his serious motorcycle accident a few months back.
- As always, I’m thankful for my friends, old and new who help fulfill my life and make it interesting.
- I’m thankful that my grandsons Orsen, who turned 5 this month and Solomon (17 months) are healthy, happy and growing strong – hopefully we can all keep up with these busy little guys;
- I’m thankful for the growth of my son Max’s consulting practice and that he continues to enjoy his work as he and Deborah raise their beautiful family;
- I’m thankful that my son Jack has just become engaged to Becca, a most welcome addition to our family;
- I’m thankful that my daughter, Ali has recently embarked on a new position as an associate attorney in New York that she really loves;
- I’m thankful that our son Jack is thriving in the golf industry, continuing to practice journalism in a good place and enjoying his work;
- I’m especially thankful to have watched our kids grow into mensches who “get it”;
- I’m thankful that Judy and I have been able to “be there” for friends, family and causes confronting various challenges;
- I’m thankful that we’ve been able to help others not as fortunate as we are in our own small way;
- I’m thankful for the advances of science & technology which positively impact the climate, our health and lives every day, despite the opposition to progress of many;
- I’m thankful for the fascinating clients and assignments we’ve been entrusted with, including continuing multiple opportunities to assist clients in marketing their golf properties for sale;
- I’m thankful for having had the opportunity to coach high school golf again this year and the relationships I’ve developed with some of our players. What a great experience!;
- I’m thankful for the continued ability to be active, play golf, exercise and for the great golf trip we took to Scotland this past summer (12 rounds in 8 days!). Tee times already made for 2026, but most likely will do only 18 holes per day;
- I’m thankful for our nation’s democracy and hopeful that it survives the current tumult;
- I’m thankful that after 40+ years I still love my job and clients continue to have confidence in us and express appreciation for our efforts;
- I’m thankful that despite losing Arnie and Camryn this year, we’ve been able to welcome our new German Short Haired Pointer, Forrest to “the party”;
- I’m thankful for the ability to travel and see so many interesting places and meet interesting people;
- I’m thankful for Millie who is adjusting to her new playmate Forrest well;
- I’m thankful for the food on my table and my wife’s AWESOME cooking;
- I’m thankful that when I encounter people who are nasty, mean and ill-willed that while often frustrating, I am able to feel empathy for them because they fail to experience true happiness because they’re spending so much time promulgating ill will. Life is too short!
